Learn the craft of songwriting focusing on the mindset of the songwriter. Tips on creative flow, lyric writing and song analysis. Dig in to the smoke and mirrors professional songwriters use to tell their stories.

 

Instructor Jacob Harshman  – Jacob is a winner of the Eddie Owen presents Open Mic shootout. Jacob has an active performance schedule and currently recording his 2nd album.

 

Harmony and Theory (All Instruments)

Accelerated Introduction To Harmony (For All Instruments) – Join instructor Bill Graham in this two part basic Music Theory crash course. Topics will include: Intervals, The Circle Of Fifths, Major Scales, Chords (Triads and Seventh Chords,) Harmonic Functions, Minor Scales, Borrowed Chords, and depending on time possibly more.

 

Live Sound

Learn live sound reinforcment for a live club, house of worship, arena, music festival etc. Review mixing consoles, loudspeakers, amplifiers, microphones and live sound reinforcment effects. Instructor

Home Recording Done Right: Pro Level Sound in your Living Room.  Learn production tips, tricks and skills in a real time environment 

 

Jordan is an Audio Engineer, Composer and Sound Designer working in the Indie Flm scene.  He is equally adept in Orchestral, Electronic, Acoustic and Rock-Oriented styles. He composes scores for film, Commercials and Live Theater. 

 

Jazz Improvisation

Join local jazz pianist and educator Bill Graham as he introduces the ideas presented in his new book “Chord Tone Improvisation: A Practical Method For Playing On Jazz Standards”.  Students will learn about different ways to approach the tones of the chords to create their own improvised lines. This workshop is appropriate for all instrumentalists except for drummers.  You should at least know your basic major and minor arpeggios to get the most out of it. This information is highly useful for musicians of all levels.
